• Mass of Remembrance – Our Annual Mass of Remembrance will take place in Ballygar Church on Sunday, November 23rd at 10:30am. During the month of November we take time to remember all our loved ones who have gone to their eternal rest.  We especially remember those who passed away since November last year. There will be a short service and blessing of the graves in the cemetery after this Mass.
• Recruitment for St. Mary’s Church Choir, Ballygar In preparation for Christmas, the choir of St. Mary’s Church, Ballygar hopes to recruit new members.  If you enjoy singing, and are over the age of 15, please contact Tomás Kenny on 086 3683778 for more information.
• Cleanup in Ballygar and Killeroran Cemeteries – There will be a cleanup in Killeroran cemetery on Saturday, November 15th, starting at 11am.  On Saturday, November 22nd, there will be a cleanup in Ballygar cemetery, also starting at 11am.  Please bring gloves and any suitable tools for weeding.  Your support would be greatly appreciated for both cleanups.

• Elphin & Achonry Diocesan Pilgrimage to KNOCK – The Elphin & Achonry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine will take place on Sunday, 17th August 2025. There will also be a Family Day on the same date offering various activities for families with children of all ages. The dioceses extend a special invitation to altar servers in our parishes to join the pilgrimage along with their families. The title for the presentation is; ‘The Demesne Landscape and its associated Follies and Features.’ Christy will make reference to Castle Kelly and surrounding sites of importance.

• -General Lawerance J. Logan (Lohan), a distinguished American war hero, was born in Trihill in 1841. In recognition of his remarkable life and service, a commemorative plaque will be unveiled in Trihill at 3:00 PM on the 10th of August 2025. The plaque will also pay tribute to his son, Colonel Edward Logan, who was honoured with the naming of Boston International Airport in his memory. This special tribute is proudly sponsored by the Beara Walk Way, the Lohan Family, and the Ballinamore Bridge Heritage Group Hen Fair Committee. All are welcome to attend this unveiling.
• August 10th Ballinamore Bridge Heritage is proud to announce the revival of a cherished local tradition — the Hen Fair — taking place on Sunday, August 10th. The Ballinamore Bridge Hen Fair dates to 1608, when it was officially established by decree of King James I. Originally created to boost local trade and foster community spirit, the fair is now making its long-awaited return for the second year. This year’s event will also feature a special commemoration of Brigadier-General Lawerance J. Logan, a distinguished American war hero born in Trihill in 1841. Fittingly, August 10th — the traditional date of the Hen Fair and St. Lawerance’s Day — also marks General Logan’s birthday. The event will include the unveiling of an updated heritage map in Ballinamore Bridge, followed by a Trad Session and local talent, storytelling, and plenty of craic. All are welcome to join in this celebration of history, heritage, and community!
