    • Sowing Seeds of Hope – As we mark the 10th anniversary of the publication of Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’, parish communities are joining in a conversation, with prayer and reflection, about the world we live in. This initiative is organised and delivered by the Partners in the Gospel catechist group.   • Whisper of God – This one-day silent retreat at Knock Prayer Centre takes place on Saturday, November 1st, from 10am to 5pm. Take sacred time to step away from the noise of daily life and reconnect with God in the peaceful, prayerful atmosphere at Knock Shrine. Further details: www.knockshrine.ie
  • BALLYGAR TRUCKIN’ is back, returning to its roots with a One Day Event for 2025, on Sunday 26th October with a day of fun, craic and entertainment for all the Family.  This year, we have chosen to fundraise for a charity very close to our hearts – Special Care Baby Unit, Ballinasloe (SCBU).  We will be hosting a Truck & Tractor Run, Ride on Truck & Tractor Run for Children, Monster Auction, music by Luain along with lots more family fun activities happening throughout the day.  If you require any further information relating to this event and ways to donate, please see our Social Media pages or contact any member of the committee.
  • Ballygar Hospice Support Group would like to thank all those who supported their Coffee Morning recently. A total of €2510 was raised for the Galway Hospice, which would not be possible without the local community’s generosity.
  • NEWBRIDGE TIDY TOWNS’ next Cash for Clobber collection will take place on Saturday, November 29th. Bags may be dropped off that morning at Cunningham’s Shop between 10 am and 12 pm. Strictly no duvets, no pillows, no cushions, no dog bedding, no blankets, please.
  • Ballygar Carnival AGM – The Annual General Meeting of Ballygar Carnival will take place on Saturday, November 8th at 8:15pm in the Mattie McDonagh Centre. All are welcome to attend.
  • Progressive 25 Card game commencing in Shiven Rovers club house on Bank Holiday Monday 27th. October at 8.30pm. Money prizes and refreshments served. Your support would be appreciated.
