Reflection, Holy Hour, Rosary, Mass, and veneration of the Relics of St. Therese and her parents Louis and Zelie Martin. Refreshments from 3.30pm to 4pm. Donation €10. Everyone welcome.
• Invitation to Celebrate: On Friday, October 30th, our parish will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Fr Douglas’ ordination to the Priesthood. The evening will begin with the celebration of Eucharist in St Marys Church, Ballygar at 6pm followed by a reception in the Mattie McDonagh Centre. We are delighted to be able to mark this important milestone with Fr Douglas in the parish of Ballygar, Newbridge and Toghergar. Fr Douglas has been a wonderful pastor & friend to our community over the last four years; we all greatly look forward to celebrating with him. All parishioners are invited to attend.

• Time of Creation -The Time of Creation is celebrated from September 1st to October 4th each year.  Our former Pope Francis calls on all Christians to be more aware of the beauty of God’s creation around us, take time to appreciate it and make every effort to protect it.  This year’s theme, “Living Water”, explores Ezekiel 47:9 and 12 as a powerful biblical vision of hope and ecological healing. Set amid exile and loss, the image of living water flowing from God’s sanctuary reveals divine healing that renews land, water, biodiversity, and human responsibility towards the whole creation.  Please see our Creation Time Sacred Space in the sanctuary of our church.  
• The Annual Legion of Mary Pilgrimage to Knock is this Sunday 27^th September. 
• The First Five Saturday Devotions – beginning with Rosary at 7pm. in St Mary’s Church, Ballygar on Saturday 3^rd October.  It’s also on webcam, on line.

• Killyan Graveyard Mass – Killyan Graveyard Committee would like to sincerely thank all who turned out in huge numbers for our annual Graveyard Mass on Sunday. Thanks to Fr. Louis, Fr. Douglas and Fr. Michael for con-celebrating Mass. Thanks to Sarah Crehan for her beautiful music, to our servers Sarah, Eva and Jessica, the Eucharistic Ministers, our zoom hosts, Caragh and Derek, and to everyone involved in the liturgy. Thanks to all our collectors and to those who helped with parking. We are very grateful to Tom Smith for generously providing the marquee. Thanks to photographer Peter Daly. A special thanks to everyone who worked hard in the weeks leading up to the Mass to ensure that the Graveyards were looking their best. The bucket collection for the upkeep of the Graveyard amounted to €2344 which paid for the sound system for the day and will help towards the maintenance of the Graveyards during the year. The basket collection for the church totalled €2,140.00.Thanks to everyone for their generosity. May all our loved ones rest in peace.
• The Courthouse Cafe celebrated its First Anniversary on the 18th August. The café is run by Ballygar Tidy Towns, Community Volunteers and Mountbellew District Development Community Employment Scheme. We wish to thank everyone who have contributed to its success especially our dedicated workers, the bakers, our loyal customers and the transition year students of Colaiste Mhuire.    Cemetery Sunday, St Marys Church, Ballygar – On Sunday, August 9 th 10:30am Mass will be
  celebrated in Ballygar cemetery. There will be a major clean-up in the cemetery on Saturday,
  July 25 th and again on Saturday August 8th. Your support would be greatly appreciated. 
   Jubilee of Marriages – Couples celebrating their Silver, Ruby, Golden, Diamond, Platinum or
  other wedding anniversaries are invited to attend one of two Jubilee Masses, along with their
  families and friends on either Sunday 4 th October at 2.30pm in Ballaghaderreen Cathedral or
  Sunday 11 th October at 2.30pm in Kiltoom Church. Bishop Kevin will celebrate both Masses.
  Light refreshments will be served afterwards for all in attendance. As each couple celebrating
  an Anniversary will receive a certificate from Bishop Kevin, they are asked to register their

   National Novena to Our Lady of Knock: 13th – 21st August – Since 1977, the National
  Novena to Our Lady of Knock has taken place at Knock Shrine, welcoming pilgrims from
  across Ireland and abroad to gather in prayer and reflection. This year’s theme, “Sheltered in
  God’s Love,” marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of Knock Basilica. For further

   Achonry & Elphin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock – The Achonry & Elphin Diocesan
  Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine takes place on Sunday, 16th August 2026. There will also be a

The dioceses extend a special invitation to altar servers and their families to join the
pilgrimage.
 Retreats at Knock Shrine – Knock Shrine is now offering the opportunity for personal, self-
directed retreat stays in the simple and peaceful surroundings of the Retreat Village. Further
