  • Mass of Remembrance – Our Annual Mass of Remembrance will take place in Ballygar Church on Sunday, November 23rd at 10:30am. During the month of November we take time to remember all our loved ones who have gone to their eternal rest.  We especially remember those who passed away since November last year. There will be a short service and blessing of the graves in the cemetery after this Mass.
  • We are excited to announce that Ladies Social Soccer is back every Tuesday evening from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The sessions take place at the Shiven Rovers Astro Turf.  This is a wonderful chance for women of all ages and skill levels to come together and enjoy the beautiful game of soccer. Whether you have years of experience or have never kicked a ball before, you are more than welcome to join us.   • Recruitment for St. Mary’s Church Choir, Ballygar In preparation for Christmas, the choir of St. Mary’s Church, Ballygar hopes to recruit new members.  If you enjoy singing, and are over the age of 15, please contact Tomás Kenny on 086 3683778 for more information.
  • North Galway Vintage & Heritage Club Annual Mega Auto jumble on Sunday 9th November, Glenamaddy Equestrian Centre (F45VP66).  Up to 50 autojumble stands in attendance. Catering provided on the day.
  • NEWBRIDGE TIDY TOWNS’ next Cash for Clobber collection will take place on Saturday, November 29th Bags may be dropped off that morning at Cunningham’s Shop between 10 am and 12 pm. Strictly no duvets, no pillows, no cushions, no dog bedding, no blankets, please.
  • Ballygar Carnival AGM – The Annual General Meeting of Ballygar Carnival will take place on Saturday, November 8th at 8:15pm in the Mattie McDonagh Centre. All are welcome to attend.
  • The November meeting of Mountbellew and District Active Retirement Association will be held in the Pastoral Centre, Mountbellew on Monday November 3rd at 8pm. New member’s welcome.
  • Newbridge Couch to 5 km every Sunday, Monday and Wednesday @ 7.30 pm in Killyan Community Pitch.  Never too late to join we have new members every week so try it out it’s a lovely social get together.
  • Message from Newbridge Tidy Towns: We wish to thank all the members of our community for the continued support and encouragement we receive. We greatly appreciate your warm well-wishes and congratulations following our recent increase of 19 points in the 2025 Supervalu National Tidy Towns’ Competition.
  • Courthouse Cafe open daily Monday to Friday 10am to 2pm, Saturday 10am to 1pm. This cafe is run by volunteers for the community. Your support would be appreciated. 
  • Save the Date! Mountbellew Christmas Market will be on again this year on Sunday 23rd November at the Ag College Gym.
  • CHRISTMAS MARKET in Athleague hall on Sunday 9th November from 10am to 3pm. There will be a lot of stalls with home baking, clothes, Christmas crafts, BRic a BRac and tea/coffee.  And a lot more with lots of Christmas cheer.
  • Newbridge Action Committee 50/50 draw – Congratulations to Barry Larkin, Newbridge on winning this week’s 50/50 draw of €502. Thank you for your continued support, everyone.
  • Ballygar Tidy Towns & St. Brendan’s Ladies 50/50 – Congratulations to Regina Bannerton, Cloonlyon who won €707 and Ita Brennan, Mount Mary who won the Halloween hamper in this week’s St Brendan’s Ladies Football Club & Ballygar Tidy Towns lotto.
