Grandparents, families and all the faithful are invited to this joyful celebration. The day includes Anointing of the Sick in the Basilica at 2.30pm; Mass at 3pm, and rosary procession (weather permitting).
• – Please be advised that a Church Gate Collection in aid of the assisted pilgrim section of the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will be taken up in your church on the 21st/22nd June.  This year 35 assisted pilgrims from the diocese will travel to Lourdes and all monies collected at church gates will be used to help defray the costs of this section of the pilgrimage.  I would be grateful if you could include the collection in your newsletter on the weekend of the 14th/15th June.  Thanking you in anticipation.

• Training for Volunteers – this training is for volunteers working with children in the diocese, this includes those acting as supervisors of Altar Services, Sacristans, Choir Leaders, Liturgy Group Leaders, Children’s Pray Group Leaders, Eucharistic Ministers who are delivering to Communion to homes or who assist as Supervisors of Altar Servers, etc.  If you are unsure whether this training is relevant to your situation please give me a call.  I realise that many volunteers have had training previously, but the requirement is the volunteers are re-trained and re-vetted every 3 years.  MONDAY 19TH MAY, 2025 IN THE ABBEY HOTEL AT 7PM.
• The Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from 29th August, 2025 to the 3rd September, 2025 inclusive, under the leadership of Bishop Kevin Doran. Pilgrimage Highlights includes Mass at the Grotto, Torchlight and Blessed Sacrament Processions, Anointing of the Sick, Water Ceremony.  Flights ex Knock Airport. The Pilgrimage includes the Assisted Pilgrim Section.  Those who travel as part of the Assisted Pilgrim Section will stay in Accueil Notre Dame, which is situated near the Grotto and Sanctuary area.  They will be cared for by the Diocesan Pilgrimage Care Team whilst in Lourdes.  Application forms for the Assisted Pilgrim Section and full details are available from Very Rev.
