1The annual Ballygar Carnival takes place over 6 days across the August Bank Holiday weekend. It was started in 1945, and having just completed it’s 81st consecutive year, it is regarded as being Ireland’s longest running family carnival.
Music and dances are always a core part of the carnival entertainment. The same is true of Murray’s Funfair, who have been bringing amusements to The Square and loyally supporting the festival for more than 60 years! Other events include performances and demonstrations, walks and talks, arts and crafts, our traditional Fair Day and market, Children’s Fancy Dress, Dog Show and much more!
