- Invitation to Celebrate: On Friday, October 30th, our parish will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Fr Douglas’ ordination to the Priesthood. The evening will begin with the celebration of Eucharist in St Marys Church, Ballygar at 6pm followed by a reception in the Mattie McDonagh Centre. We are delighted to be able to mark this important milestone with Fr Douglas in the parish of Ballygar, Newbridge and Toghergar. Fr Douglas has been a wonderful pastor & friend to our community over the last four years; we all greatly look forward to celebrating with him. All parishioners are invited to attend.
- Launch of Book – Fr. Douglas will launch his book of Homilies on Friday 30th October during his 25th Anniversary celebrations. All proceeds will go towards a school being built in Nigeria.
- World Youth Day 2027 with Pope Leo XIV – Are you interested in travelling on the diocesan youth pilgrimage to Korea for World Youth Day in 2027? The diocese is currently seeking expressions of interest from parishioners who will be aged 19 – 30 at the time of the event. Travel dates are 27 July – 12 August 2027, approx. - Stewards/Collectors’ List – We are looking to recruit a few more stewards/collectors to help with the Church collection each week in Ballygar Church. If there are any parishioners who would like to volunteer to be added to this list, please contact Fr Douglas or Tomás Kenny (086 3683778).

- Dunmore Bingo – Dunmore Community Council Bingo will take place on Sunday, October 11th in the Town Hall, Dunmore at 3pm. Lots of prizes on the day including a €500 jackpot. - Bank of Ireland is inviting people to pop into their local branch on Friday, 16th October for a cup of tea, coffee and treats to support the Sunflower Children’s Hospice. The hospice will be the first children’s hospice in the region, providing specialist care and support for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as vital support for their families.
