Wild Youth to headline Ballygar Carnival

Ireland’s Eurovision entry for 2023 Wild Youth will be playing at the 79th Annual Ballygar Carnival this August Bank Holiday weekend. The indie-rock band from Dublin are set to perform live at the Mattie McDonagh Centre on Sunday 6th August, 2023. Wild Youth, which is comprised of band-members Conor O’Donohoe, David Whelan, Ed Porter and Callum McAdam, were recently chosen to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool and will perform their song We Are One in Tuesday night’s (May 9th) semi-final. The band have seen chart success with hits such as Making Me Dance, Champagne Butterflies and Can’t Move On, while their album The Last Goodbye debuted at number five on the Irish Albums Chart.

Wild Youth will be joining the list of former Eurovision entrants who have performed at Ballygar Carnival in the past, including Jump the Gun, Niamh Kavanagh – who performed here with the band Off the Record, and of course Linda Martin, who won the contest in 1992 with the song Why Me? after she was booked for the Carnival that year. Perhaps we will see history repeat itself and Wild Youth will be performing in Ballygar on the August Bank Holiday weekend as Eurovision winners, fingers crossed!

Best of Luck to Wild Youth at the Eurovision Song Contest!
