Penitential Service for Easter – An essential part of preparation for Easter is Confession, i.e. Reconciliation.  The Sinpot way of dealing with our sins has been very helpful and effective.  We are going to do that again in St. Patrick’s Church, Newbridge.  You don’t have to be baptised in Newbridge to avail of this opportunity to be reconciled with yourself, your faith, your God.  Come to Newbridge on Sunday, 24th March, following 11.30 a.m. Mass; have your sins written out, approach the Priest, present your sins, receive absolution, watch your list go up in smoke, say a prayer of penance – walk away knowing that – as JESUS SAID so many times – ‘YOUR FAITH HAS SAVED YOU’.  Everyone is invited 🙏🙏🙏 Thank you, Lord, for our sacraments!

Easter envelopes will be distributed this weekend; can the collectors please collect from Church.  This collection is for the Priests of the Parish.

  • Mass of Chrism – Bishop Kevin invites you to attend the Mass of Chrism on Wednesday 27th March at 7.30pm in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Sligo.  During the Mass, Bishop Kevin will bless and consecrate the oils used in the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Orders and the Sick and the priests of the diocese will renew their commitment to their priestly ministry.  All are very welcome to attend.

INVITATION TO WATCH THE FILM “THE LETTER”- We, the Pope John Paul II participants in Transition Year, would like to invite the community to join us for a special screening of the film “The Letter”, on Friday 8th March at 8:15 pm in Ballygar’s Courthouse.   “The Letter” tells the incredible story of the Laudato Si encyclical letter sent by Pope Francis to the world. The film chronicles the journey of five individuals, each representing marginalised groups often overlooked in international environmental discussions. They all meet Pope Francis, who shares his vision in stunningly human interactions in the city of Assisi. At its roots, the film is about humanity and how we can work together to overcome climate change.  This message is especially relevant during this season of Lent as we support each other in Trocaire’s work to support people and communities to tackle the causes of poverty, violence, justice, and water and climate injustice.
