  • Exam Mass June 3rd at 7:30pm in Knock basilica – For all students and their families preparing for exams. Take some time out from your studies for a quiet moment to ask for God’s strength and guidance as you move through your exam period. Bring your pencil case to have it blessed!
  • VAKS PROGRAMME: Applications are now open for VAKS (Volunteer at Knock Shrine) programme. It is an opportunity for young people in TY, 5th and 6th year to come to Knock to volunteer for a weekend in either July or August.   • Annual Rosary Rally – The Annual Rosary Rally takes place on Saturday 1st June in Knock Shrine commencing at 9.30am and finishing with Mass at 3pm. We have many amazing speakers for the day and many beautiful apostolates available on the day to chat with you. Bus leaves Sligo Park Hotel at 8.30am.   • Congratulations Windfield NS- We wish Windfield NS Boys soccer team the very best of luck as they go to the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday May 29th.  They will represent Connaught after topping their group in Umbro Park Castlebar. 
  • Legion of Mary Acies – Legion of Mary Acies Ceremony takes place in Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon Town on Sunday 26th May 2024 at 4pm.
  • Call for Old Carnival Brochures/Programmes – If anyone in our community has any older carnival programmes/brochures, going back to the 60s/70s/80s/90s, the committee would be very grateful to borrow and copy them for a display to celebrate the 80th carnival. A scan or photo of the brochures/programmes would be great also.   • North Galway Vintage & Heritage Club Autojumble – Sunday 26th May in Glenamaddy Equestrian Centre F45 VP66 starting at 9am. Catering provided.
  • SUNDAY 26th May Social Gathering, there will be an afternoon with tea/ coffee and light refreshments and music.  Everybody is welcome, so come along and join us at 3pm in the Old School Building, Market Square, Ballygar F42 YA62.
  • Ballygar Ladies Club – Ballygar Ladies meet next Thursday 30th May at 8pm in the Courthouse. All ladies welcome.  Admission €3
  • KEPAK SHEARFEST 2024 – Mountbellew will host the All Ireland and All Nations Sheep Shearing Championships on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of the June Bank Holiday weekend.   • Killyan Graveyard – The funds raised by the NAC 50/50 Draw in the month of May will go towards the maintenance of Killyan Graveyard.  The annual Killyan Graveyard Mass will take place on Sunday, 18th August.  The funds raised will also allow the hiring of a marquee and sound system to cater for the very large crowd expected to attend as usual.  Your support for the Draw would be very much appreciated.  Thank you for helping us to keep KGY in good condition and a fitting resting place for our departed loved ones.
  • Newbridge Action Committee 50/50 draw –Congratulations to this week’s winner Matthew Hughes, Ballinamore bridge on winning €557 & last week’s winner was Michael Queeney Mt Hazel on winning €515.  Next week’s draw will be in Kenny’s Ballygar.  Thanks to everyone for their continued support every week, 6 months and yearly envelopes available from committee members.
  • Ballygar Tidy Towns & St. Brendan’s Ladies 50/50 – Congratulations to Dympna Pettit, Ballygar who won €582 in this week’s St Brendan’s Ladies Football Club & Ballygar Tidy Towns Lotto. Thanks to all who are supporting the draw and all the businesses who are selling the tickets. Next week’s draw Saturday 25th May in The Thatch.
