  • Young Adult Pilgrimage to Italy 29 July – 8 August 2025 with Bishop Kevin Doran. The pilgrimage is open to 18 – 35year olds. The cost is €995 per person sharing and this includes flights, coach transfers, accommodation, Youth Jubilee with Pope Francis in Rome, 3 days on the St Columbanus Camino in northern Italy and day trip to Milan.   • Restore, Renew, Rekindle – Marriage Enrichment Weekend – Catholic Marriage Encounter in Ireland welcome you to their next Marriage Enrichment Weekend from Friday 28th – 30th March at Knock, Co. Mayo. The Catholic Marriage Enrichment Programme offers a weekend experience that helps couples enhance their communication and deepen their love for each other and provides a broader and deeper understanding of the sacrament of marriage.   • The 5 First Saturday Devotion for World Peace: The next First Saturday devotion takes place on Saturday 1st March at 6.50 pm in St. Mary’s Church, Ballygar commencing with Rosary.
  • International Women’s Day – 5th March 11am Court House, Ballygar.  We look forward to welcoming women across our community to join us in marking the occasion with music, conversation and light refreshments.  All welcome.
  • Newbridge Ladies Club meeting in Newbridge Hall on Tuesday night 4th. March at 8.30pm. New members are very welcome. Why not join us!
  • The monthly meeting of Mountbellew and District Active Retirement Association will be held in the Pastoral Centre Mountbellew on Monday March 3rd at 8pm. New members welcome
  • Rescheduled talk on St. Brigit– Moylough Heritage Society will host a talk in Moylough Hall by Dr Elizabeth Dawson, lecturer in history Carlow College. Title: “St Brigit: forging an early medieval saint’’. This event takes place on Saturday, March 8th at 8pm.  All are welcome. Refreshments served. Talk supported by Galway Co Council.
  • Tidy Towns An Taisce Annual Cleanup – Ballygar Tidy Towns will hold their annual An Taisce spring cleanup on Saturday, March 8th starting at 11am. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Gloves, high viz jackets and pickers will be provided. Members of the Tidy Towns committee will be in touch to coordinate different areas for litter picking. Many thanks.
  • Killyan Couch to 5k – Continues Every Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday at Killyan sportsfield at 7.30pm.  Its free.  You do what you want – if you want to build up to 5k walk or a 5k run.  Make your own 5k goal.  You do not have to go every day, its up to you how many days a week suit you.  Grand Finala Easter Saturday 19th April.  Let’s get moving.

  • Mountbellew Mart will hold a scrap metal collection on the 8th & 9th of March 2025.   All unwanted scrap metal material can be brought into Mountbellew Mart yard on these dates.  All enquiries to Mart Office at 090 9679660
