  • Diocese of Elphin Parish Mission Appeal – The Daughters of Charity will visit The Parish of Ballygar on the weekend of the 6th & 7th of September 2025 and will speak at all Masses about their work in Africa.
  • Sowing Seeds of Hope – Join us for an inspiring conversation where we’ll delve into the importance of caring for one another and our common home on Wednesday October 8th, 15th and 22nd at 8.30pm at the Old Courthouse, Ballygar.
  • Killyan Graveyard Committee wishes to thank everyone who prepared for and helped in any way at our recent annual Killyan Graveyard Mass. Thanks to Fr. Tommy, Fr. Louis, Fr. Douglas and Fr. Bernie for concelebrating, to Joe and Tomás for providing beautiful music and to all who participated in various ways. The bucket collection for the upkeep of the Graveyard amounted to €1875.75 and the basket collection for the church totalled €2,602.00. Sincere thanks to all who contributed to these collections. May all our deceased loved ones rest in peace.
  • Mountbellew/Moylough/Menlough/Skehana – LOUGH DERG: To mark the Jubilee Year, a Parish Pilgrimage to Lough Derg (one-day) will take place on Tuesday 9th September. Departing from Pastoral Centre, Mountbellew, H53 X008.   • Autumn Gathering – Cuppa and a Chat (Toghergar) – An Autumn Gathering after 9.30 am Mass is planned for the last Sunday in September, 28th. It will provide an opportunity for parishioners to meet after mass, for a cuppa and a chat. 
  • Ballygar Culture Night 2025 – This year in Ballygar, Culture Night will take place on Friday, September 19th in the Courthouse.  It will begin at 8:00pm with a talk by Ann Carey (Née Connolly) Community Archaeologist.  Anne’s presentation will focus on Monuments of interest in Ballygar and surrounding areas.  The Half Landing Traditional Irish and Folk Music Group will perform from 9pm.  Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.  Tea/Coffee and refreshments will be served on the night.
  • Yoga starting Wednesday 10th September in the Courthouse 6pm to 7pm and 7.15pm to 8.15pm. Please contact Petra 0868257322 to book your place.

  • Newbridge Action Committee 50/50 draw – Congratulations to this week’s winner Cillian and Ollie Hughes on winning €573.  Well done to all involved in Building for Children. What a brilliant night. Well done to all who supported the Auction.  NAC donated €1000 to Building For Children last night. This was only possible thanks to your continued weekly support. Truly appreciated – thank you to everyone for their support every week.
  • Ballygar Tidy Towns & St. Brendan’s Ladies 50/50 – Congratulations to this week’s winner of St Brendan’s Ladies Football Club & Ballygar Tidy Towns lotto Carmel Downey, Drinane €702.
