- August 10th Ballinamore Bridge Heritage is proud to announce the revival of a cherished local tradition — the Hen Fair — taking place on Sunday, August 10th. The Ballinamore Bridge Hen Fair dates to 1608, when it was officially established by decree of King James I. Originally created to boost local trade and foster community spirit, the fair is now making its long-awaited return for the second year. This year’s event will also feature a special commemoration of Brigadier-General Lawerance J. Logan, a distinguished American war hero born in Trihill in 1841. Fittingly, August 10th — the traditional date of the Hen Fair and St. Lawerance’s Day — also marks General Logan’s birthday.
