- Elphin & Achonry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes – The Elphin & Achonry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from 29th August to 3rd September 2025. Application forms for the Assisted Pilgrim Section are available from Fr. Ray Milton, P.P., Pilgrimage Director, St. John’s, Lecarrow, Co. Roscommon (090 6661115). Closing date for receipt of Assisted Pilgrim Applications: 16th June. Nominations for the Youth Section are being sought from parishes for young people aged 17 to 20 years to participate in the pilgrimage. Youth must be nominated through their Priest/Chaplain. - Jubilee of Marriages Couples celebrating their Silver, Ruby, Golden, Diamond, Platinum or other wedding anniversaries are invited to attend a Jubilee Mass, along with their families and friends, on Sunday 5th October at 2.30pm in Sligo Cathedral or Sunday 19th October at 2.30pm in Strokestown Church. Bishop Kevin will celebrate both Masses. Light refreshments will be served afterwards for all in attendance. - Ballygar Cemetery Sunday – On behalf of the Ballygar Cemetery Committee, we wish to express a big thank you to all who helped in preparing for the Ballygar Cemetery Mass last Sunday week, August 10th. To Fr Tommy Conway and Fr Douglas for concelebrating and to all who helped with the chairs and altar space. A special thank you to Micheál Naughton, Mike Lohan and Thomas Morgan who transported all the chairs to and from the community centre. Also, many thanks to all who attended and donated to the cemetery collection that morning, the total amounted to €1,206.85. Many thanks to all.
