  • he Elphin & Achonry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from 29th August to 3rd September 2025. Application forms for the Assisted Pilgrim Section are available from Fr. Ray Milton, P.P., Pilgrimage Director, St. John’s, Lecarrow, Co. Roscommon (090 6661115).  Closing date for receipt of Assisted Pilgrim Applications: 16th June.  Nominations for the Youth Section are being sought from parishes for young people aged 17 to 20 years to participate in the pilgrimage. Youth must be nominated through their Priest/Chaplain. Forms available from the local parish office. For all other enquiries regarding the pilgrimage, contact: Joe Walsh Tours at 01 2410800 or email info@joewalshtours.ie 
  • – Join the National Grandparents Pilgrimage at Knock Shrine on Sunday, 27th July, celebrating the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly. Grandparents, families and all the faithful are invited to this joyful celebration. The day includes Anointing of the Sick in the Basilica at 2.30pm; Mass at 3pm, and rosary procession (weather permitting).

  • – The 5 first Saturday Devotions will continue Saturday 7th June commencing with Rosary at 7pm in St. Mary’s Church, Ballygar.
  • SeniorLine, Ireland’s national telephone service for older people, will be open every day this summer from 10am-10pm, freephone 1800 80 45 91.  Your call will be answered by another older person who will listen, keep you company, discuss a problem and support you towards a resolution if possible.  
  • Mountbellew and District Active Retirement Association will be held in the Pastoral Centre, Mountbellew on Monday June 9th at 8pm. New members welcome.
  • wish to thank all who volunteered and supported Shearfest ’25.  Thank you one & all for making the weekend such a success.
  • – Dunmore Community Council Bingo will take place on Sunday June 8th in the Town Hall, Dunmore at 3pm.  Lots of prizes on the day including a €500 jackpot.  Draw for a free double book, single book, lucky line sheet and Jackpot sheet.  Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be served at the interval.  All are welcome. 
  • Weekend 14th / 15th  June, the local branch of Multiple Sclerosis Ireland is holding its Annual Church Gate Collection at Mass Times at Ballygar, Newbridge & Toghergar Churches.  The Branch would like to extend a word of gratitude to every one of our supporters and to our loyal Church Gate Collectors.
