- he Elphin & Achonry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from 29th August to 3rd September 2025. Application forms for the Assisted Pilgrim Section are available from Fr. Ray Milton, P.P., Pilgrimage Director, St. John’s, Lecarrow, Co. Roscommon (090 6661115). Closing date for receipt of Assisted Pilgrim Applications: 16th June. Nominations for the Youth Section are being sought from parishes for young people aged 17 to 20 years to participate in the pilgrimage. Youth must be nominated through their Priest/Chaplain. - – Join the National Grandparents Pilgrimage at Knock Shrine on Sunday, 27th July, celebrating the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly. Grandparents, families and all the faithful are invited to this joyful celebration. The day includes Anointing of the Sick in the Basilica at 2.30pm; Mass at 3pm, and rosary procession (weather permitting).
- – Please be advised that a Church Gate Collection in aid of the assisted pilgrim section of the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will be taken up in your church on the 21st/22nd June. This year 35 assisted pilgrims from the diocese will travel to Lourdes and all monies collected at church gates will be used to help defray the costs of this section of the pilgrimage. I would be grateful if you could include the collection in your newsletter on the weekend of the 14th/15th June. Thanking you in anticipation.
- The National Pilgrimage for Life, organised by the Council for Life of the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference, will be celebrated on Saturday 21st June in Knock Shrine. Mass will be celebrated at 3pm in the Basilica, during which the Anointing of the Sick will take place. Main celebrant and homilist will be Bishop Martin Hayes. We invite you to join us in Knock to celebrate the gift of life and to pray for the protection of all human life.
- – The AGM of Ballygar, Newbridge, Toghergar MOW Committee will be held in the Mattie McDonagh on Thursday 26th of June, at 8pm.
