  • Government Humanitarian Assistance forms are available for those affected by the recent and ongoing power outages -at the Old School Building, The Square, Ballygar. Assistance can be given with forms.  Open Monday– Friday.
  • – Young Pioneers & Accompanying Adults Annual Retreat takes place in Donamon Castle on Saturday, 15th February.  More details @ www.elphindiocese.ie/youth-retreat .  All welcome but booking essential.
  • – Marriage Enrichment Weekend – Catholic Marriage Encounter in Ireland welcome you to their next Marriage Enrichment Weekend from Friday 28th – 30th March at Knock, Co. Mayo. The Catholic Marriage Enrichment Programme offers a weekend experience that helps couples enhance their communication and deepen their love for each other and provides a broader and deeper understanding of the sacrament of marriage.   • A public meeting, organized by the local community, will be held to discuss the proposed wind farm in the surrounding areas of Ballyforan, Ballygar, and Ahasaragh. This event will provide valuable information and give local residents an opportunity to voice any concerns regarding the development of windmills in the area. Details: Date: Monday, 17th February 2025, Time: 20:30, Location: The hall, Ballyforan.  This meeting is open to all members of the community, especially those who may be affected by the proposed development.  It will be an opportunity to better understand the project and discuss potential impacts.  We encourage you to attend, ask questions, and share your thoughts.  We look forward to seeing you there!
  • – Moylough Heritage Society will host a talk in Moylough Hall by Dr Elizabeth Dawson, lecturer in history Carlow College. Title: “St Brigit: forging an early medieval saint’’. This event takes place on Saturday, March 8th at 8pm.  All are welcome. Refreshments served. Talk supported by Galway Co Council.
