- Killyan Graveyard Mass Sunday 16th August at 11.30 am Mass will be available on Zoom. Cleanup Thursday 12th at 7pm. We are only asking for 1 hour of your time bring brushes and spades please.
- Ballygar Heritage Week – A Tour of Ecclesiastical Sites in East Galway. Historians Anne Carey (née Connolly) and Dr Christy Cunniffe will lead a tour of some of East Galway’s most important ecclesiastical sites. On the day we will visit the Kilconnell Franciscan Friary, Clontuskert Augustinian Priory and Clonfert Cathedral. The meeting place is outside the church in Ballygar at 2pm on Sunday, August 23rd. - Jubilee of Marriages – Couples celebrating their Silver, Ruby, Golden, Diamond, Platinum or other wedding anniversaries are invited to attend one of two Jubilee Masses, along with their families and friends on either Sunday 4th October at 2.30pm in Ballaghaderreen Cathedral or Sunday 11th October at 2.30pm in Kiltoom Church. Bishop Kevin will celebrate both Masses. Light refreshments will be served afterwards for all in attendance. As each couple celebrating an Anniversary will receive a certificate from Bishop Kevin, they are asked to register their details at www.achonryelphin.ie
- National Novena to Our Lady of Knock: 13th – 21st August – Since 1977, the National Novena to Our Lady of Knock has taken place at Knock Shrine, welcoming pilgrims from across Ireland and abroad to gather in prayer and reflection. - Achonry & Elphin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock – The Achonry & Elphin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine takes place on Sunday, 16th August 2026. There will also be a Family Day on the same date offering various activities for families with children of all ages. The dioceses extend a special invitation to altar servers and their families to join the pilgrimage.
