Thanks for visiting our new website for the town of Ballygar, Co. Galway.
This website was launched on 31st July 2020 as part of the Ballygar Carnival online festival. It is fitting we launched a website at a time when connecting online is more important than ever.
The idea for the site started out with Ballygar Carnival, as the committee wanted a website to advertise the festival. However it was immediately apparent it would not be economical to host a site for a festival which would only be used for a few weeks in the year. Therefore it was decided to expand the site to accommodate the entire town, and allow businesses and services here to promote themselves year-round. It is particularly aimed towards smaller businesses that may struggle to maintain an online presence by themselves, but by being part of a larger platform they have strength in numbers.
