• Elphin diocese’s Adult Faith Formation – Over coming weeks a number of parishes throughout the diocese will host a short in-person course entitled ‘Reading and Praying with St. Paul’. More details available @ www.elphindiocese.ie/st-paul. It’s a lovely course and I believe all who opt for it will find it very engaging, life-giving and enjoyable.
• Colaiste Mhuire Ballygar –are running a PLC morning course in Healthcare Support and Special Needs Assisting beginning in mid September. Information on the course is available by contacting the school at 090-662-4740 or on the school website www.colaistemhuire.org.
• Mountellew Active Retirement Meeting – The monthly meeting of Mountbellew and District Active Retirement will be held in the Pastoral Centre Mountbellew on Monday 3rd October at 8pm. New members always welcome.
Registration fee €5 – Limited places available, registration necessary! Please contact 085 2521 200 to book your place.
• Newbridge Ladies Club: – Meeting on Tuesday night October 4th, at 9.30 pm in Newbridge Hall. In order for the club to continue new members are needed and a new committee to be set up. All ladies welcome.
• Free SafeTALK training happening on World Mental Health day (Oct 10th) in Mountbellew Pastoral Centre 7pm-10:30pm. SafeTALK (Suicide Alertness for Everyone) is an internationally recognised half-day training programme that prepares participants to recognise and engage with people who may be having thoughts of suicide and to connect them to suicide first aid resources. • Rural Social Scheme – The Rural Social Scheme (RSS), which provides supplementary income support for farmers in receipt of social welfare payments in return for part-time employment in their community, is now open for applications. The Scheme has a variety of work placements to suit different interests and skills. For more details, phone 091 875732 or email tusadmin@grd.ie.
• Newbridge 50/50 – Congratulations to this week’s winner of the 50/50 draw Betty Crehan Ballinamore Bridge on winning €409. Next week’s draw will be in the Shiven Inn. • Ballygar Tidy Towns & St. Brendan’s Ladies 50/50 – Congratulations to Danny Rogerson, Four Roads who won €572 in this week’s St Brendan’s Ladies Football Club & Ballygar Tidy Towns 50/50 Draw. Thanks to all who are supporting the draw and all the businesses who are selling the tickets. Next week’s draw takes place in Martins.
